Madhouse has unveiled the teaser trailer, full title, and release date for its highly anticipated original anime film, tentatively titled 'ghost'. The film is set to debut on February 11, 2027, in Japan, and will be directed by the renowned Shingo Natsume, known for his work on 'ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.', 'One-Punch Man', and 'Sonny Boy'. The project marks Natsume's first venture into the realm of original anime films, and he has expressed his ambition to create a work that is both fictional and in tune with the present, striving for realism. The film's website promises a captivating narrative set in a near-future where labor is no longer necessary, following the journey of Neekei, a girl determined to uncover the 'real' amidst a content society. Additionally, the film will receive a manga adaptation by artist himiko, with serialization set to commence in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine in August.
